Infrared Heat and Infrared Therapy
Twelve years ago, we frequently received inquiries from individuals curious about infrared saunas. Many would ask, “What is this ‘infrared stuff’?” Today, an increasing number of people are aware of the wellness benefits associated with regular infrared sauna use. Weekly, we hear from customers who share their improved well-being and positive changes experienced from using their infrared sauna.
Why is a Fitness Sauna So Effective?
In a traditional sauna, you’re in a hot environment with temperatures ranging from 180 to 220 degrees Fahrenheit. In contrast, an Infrared Sauna utilizes about 20% of its heat to warm the air, while 80% directly penetrates your body, boosting thermal energy. This warming effect stimulates your cardiovascular, immune, and lymphatic systems, leading to a detoxifying sweat.
To maximize your experience, preheat your sauna for 10-15 minutes before entering. As the infrared heat elevates your body’s thermal energy, you will sweat profusely—often more than in a traditional sauna. Research indicates that sweat from a conventional sauna contains about 3-5% toxins, whereas sweat from an infrared sauna can contain 17-20%. The deep-penetrating heat of a sauna makes it exceptionally effective for detoxification.
Low-Temperature Therapy
Infrared therapy operates at lower temperatures, allowing for higher-quality far infrared heat. Our heaters, which operate at about 180-200°F, produce superior far infrared heat compared to heaters that reach 450°F or even 700°F. With 1,000 watts of full spectrum infrared available in our saunas, you receive the ultimate infrared therapy experience. After warming your sauna for 10-15 minutes, you can set the temperature to maximum. During your 30-45 minute session, the temperature will gradually rise, enabling you to stay in longer, sweat more, and reap additional benefits.
Is Cabin Temperature Important?
The cabin temperature does play a role, but it’s not the sole focus. The most crucial aspect of an infrared sauna is the infrared heat increasing your body’s thermal energy. You can still experience benefits even with the door and roof vent open. However, a warm cabin enhances comfort and aids in raising your core body temperature. Achieving a balance between high-quality infrared heat and a comfortably warm sauna is essential for a top-notch experience.
All sauna models achieve this balance, delivering excellent infrared heat while effectively warming the sauna cabin.
Why is Heater Placement Important?
Strategic placement of heaters is vital for maximizing the thermal energy in your body. Our sauna’s heaters are designed to concentrate infrared heat on both the front and back of your body. The back wall heaters span the full length of your back, while the front heaters target your core. This design ensures that you are fully enveloped in the benefits of infrared therapy.
